Volunteer of the Year - Andrea Seeley
EGHA - Thank you to our volunteers!
The EGHA would like to sincerely thank all of the volunteers who make each year run smoothly. Without volunteers, we would be unable to provide hockey for the girls in our community. Although the work of all volunteers is important, two volunteers stood out and deserve special recognition.
Our Volunteer of the Year for the 2019/2020 season is Andrea Seeley. In the letter that nominated her, it was stated that for over five years, Andrea has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to our teams and our organization as team manager, den mom and league volunteer. She has attended scheduling meetings; liaised with executive members; maintained a reliable communication standard for all families; organized team practices, tournaments, social gatherings and events; balanced and relayed team budget data and assisted with delicate team conflicts when they arose. She is not afraid to take on new challenges and does so with enthusiasm and dedication to the team’s best interests. Her sense of humour, attention to detail and loyalty to the EGHA and her teams has been proven year after year. She is a true champion for girls hockey with her tireless commitment to our girls hockey association. Congratulations, Andrea, on this well deserved title.
The EGHA would also like to recognize Grace Calvert for her dedication to Ennismore Girls hockey. Her nomination letter stated that this was Graces third year volunteering for the EGHA as a trainer on the peewee bench. Grace made every effort to attend all of their games, practices and team events. She was a role model for younger girls, always encouraging them to do their best. Time and again Grace has put the peewee team first. Even if she had a game or practice of her own, she would make time to be at the peewee practices and games. She also travelled to their away games, as she was a part of the team and wanted to be there for the girls and the coaches. Thank you Grace Calvert for your time and dedication to girls hockey. This article has been viewed 951 times.
