Maya started playing mostly ringette at 8 yrs old in 2016 in Oshawa, with a simultaneous year of hockey in Whitby in 2017. She stopped playing in 2020, until she joined the Ennismore Eagles Girls in 2022, where she has been ever since!
This team has meant so much to her, and she has experienced so much growth since the beginning. She has come such a long way with conquering her fear and anxiety, and hockey is a big part of that.
Next year, Maya is going to experience some traveling by WWOOFING ( World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms - organic agriculture & sustainability) at a farm somewhere in the world. The location is yet to be chosen, but with many amazing options pinned. She would also love to eventually experience the adventure of post secondary school, but only when she is ready to decide on something that really lights her up!We want to wish you all the best, Maya!!
A Note From Your Parents:
Maya, I am in such awe of you, as a hockey player. I am lucky to stay upright on skates, so your talent and determination to improve have always blown me away. The dedication and commitment to show up for your team is so admirable, and such a lifelong skill.
This era has come to an end far too quickly. Just seems like yesterday we were at the first hotel away for a tournmament, and now we have 2 kids who are done their hockey careers.
At least we have Felix to watch play for another decade!
